The Shortest Hike in Japan

I went hiking with some friends the other day at Sosenkyo in Misumi.  We all met up at the Misumi Onsen, and then drove over to the trail to hike up and see the famous waterfall at Sosenkyo.  Well, we had a lot of kids with us, so we were hoping for a short hike, but this hike was over in about 10 minutes!

This is a picture of the beginning of the trail.  If you want to see a picture of the waterfall you should check out Ms. Kane's blog post.  The leaves were beautiful, but you could almost throw a baseball from this sign to the waterfall...  We all had a great time anyway, and it was nice to get together.
So, have you ever been to Sosenkyo?

  1. Wow! The leaves look gorgeous. It is a good time of year to go hiking. Good idea.
